Lemon Honey Kefir Cake
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1½ cups
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric a pinch
- Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
- Butter 5 oz
- Kefir 5 fl oz
- Lemon 2 pieces
- Sugar 5 oz
- Honey 1 tablespoon
- Chocolate eggs 3 pieces
- Vanillin to taste
- Ground Breadcrumbs 2 tablespoons
- Brandy 0 fl oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice 5 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F.
Step 2
Beat the softened butter with 150 grams of sugar. While continuing to beat, add the yolk, honey, kefir, juice, and zest of two lemons.
Step 3
Mix the flour with baking soda and turmeric. Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Step 4
Whip the egg whites and gently fold them into the batter.
Step 5
Pour the batter into a round cake pan greased with butter and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
Step 6
Pour hot syrup made from 50 grams of sugar, 50 ml of lemon juice, and brandy over the finished cake without cooling it.
Step 7
Remove the cooled cake from the pan and cover it with icing made from powdered sugar and lemon juice.
