Lemon Buttermilk Pie
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 0.6 cups
- Eggs 3 pieces
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Lemon Zest 1 teaspoon
- Lemon Juice 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch 3 tablespoons
- Buttermilk 15 fl oz
- Honey Cake Base 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Beat the butter and sugar together.
Step 2
Add the egg yolks one at a time, continuing to beat.
Step 3
Add the salt, lemon zest, lemon juice, and cornstarch; mix well.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold in the buttermilk mixture.
Step 5
Pour the resulting mixture over the unbaked cake base and bake at 425 °F (220 °C) for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Reduce the temperature to 350 °F (175 °C) and bake for 30 minutes, or until the custard thickens.
Step 7
Serve warm or chilled.
