
Lazy Baklava with Chopped Nuts

Description
Nuts - peanuts or walnuts.
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Sour Cream 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Nuts 5 oz
- Raisins 5 oz
- Sugar 1½ cups
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Vanillin a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the raisins, soak them in water until they swell, then dry them on a towel.
Step 2
For the dough, dissolve the baking soda in sour cream, add the flour and butter. Knead until smooth and homogeneous. Divide it into two unequal parts.
Step 3
For the filling, mix the raisins, chopped nuts, sugar, and egg.
Step 4
Roll out the larger part of the dough and place it on a baking sheet, forming edges.
Step 5
Spread the filling on top.
Step 6
Roll out the smaller part of the dough and place it on top of the filling. Pinch the edges.
Step 7
Brush with beaten egg.
Step 8
Bake for 40 minutes at 430°F.
Step 9
Remove and cool in the pan.
Step 10
Then cut into diamonds, like baklava; I serve it simply as a pie.
