Baking and Desserts • European
Description
This dough can also be used to make muffins, and the cooking time should be approximately the same.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Sugar ¾ cup
- Margarine 5 oz
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
- Vinegar essence 2 teaspoons
- Activated Baking Soda a pinch
- Nutmeg to taste
- Cinnamon to taste
- Kiwi 2 pieces
- Walnuts 5 oz
- Apple 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a deep bowl, pour in the milk and gradually beat in the eggs. Whisk until the mixture is homogeneous, pale yellow, with a slight foam on the surface.
Step 2
In another deep bowl, sift the flour and add the sugar. Mix them and thoroughly rub in the margarine at room temperature.
Step 3
To the bowl with the liquid ingredients, add the baking soda (dissolved in vinegar), nutmeg, and cinnamon to taste. Mix well.
Step 4
Slowly pour the liquid part of the dough into the bowl with the other ingredients, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. The dough should be thick and heavy, yet flowing.
Step 5
Chop the walnuts, and dice the peeled kiwis and the cored medium-sized apple into 7-10 mm cubes, then fold these ingredients into the dough.
Step 6
Pour the dough into a mold with a bottom diameter of about 23 cm, preferably with removable high sides. Place it in a preheated oven at 210°C and bake for about 40 minutes.
