Ingredients

  • Kefir 15 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour 4 cups
  • Safflower Oil 15 fl oz
  • Activated Baking Soda 1½ teaspoons
  • Sugar 1½ cups
  • Salt 1½ teaspoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Knead a soft dough by mixing kefir, baking soda, sugar, salt, oil, and flour.

Step 2

Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a flat cake about 1 cm thick.

Step 3

Sprinkle the flat cake with sugar and roll it into a log. Cut the resulting log lengthwise in the middle, leaving the edges intact and not cutting through the bottom layer of dough. Turn it inside out to form a heart shape, pinching the ends together.

Step 4

Place the buns on a greased baking sheet and bake at 355°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 25-30 minutes.
