Description
Kazandibi
Ingredients
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Sugar 0 oz
- Corn Starch 1 tablespoon
- Glutinous Rice Flour 1 tablespoon
- Vanillin 0 oz
- Butter 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Powdered Sugar 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Grease a baking dish (preferably non-stick) with butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Step 2
Mix the wheat flour, cornstarch, and rice flour, then pour in half a cup of milk. Stir until smooth.
Step 3
Pour the remaining milk into a saucepan, add sugar, a pinch of salt, and vanillin, and bring to a boil. Remove the boiling milk from the heat immediately and set aside.
Step 4
Pour 2-3 tablespoons of hot milk into the starch-flour mixture, stir, and then combine it with the remaining hot milk — the mixture should be lump-free.
Step 5
Place the saucepan over medium heat and, stirring, bring to a boil, cooking for about five minutes. The mixture should thicken. Pour the mixture into the baking dish.
Step 6
Put the dish over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes. As it boils, turn the dish clockwise every 2-3 minutes. Complete a full circle this way.
Step 7
Set the dish aside, and gently lift the thick mixture from the side with a silicone spatula — if the mixture is browned at the bottom, it's ready; if not, return it to the heat and continue warming and turning.
Step 8
Place the dish with the finished mixture on a water-dampened baking tray and let it cool. Then refrigerate for at least three hours, preferably overnight.
Step 9
Cut the finished dessert into rectangles with a sharp knife and roll each one up.
