Japanese Shrimp Soup

Ingredients

  • Egg white 3 pieces
  • Shrimp 10 oz
  • Sake 1 tablespoon
  • Corn Starch 4 tablespoons
  • Soy Sauce 1 tablespoon
  • Scallions 0 oz
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Bonito flakes 1 tablespoon
  • Dark red seaweed 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Boil the shrimp, peel them, and mix with the egg white, sake, cornstarch, and soy sauce. Season with salt and blend the mixture in a blender. Shape the resulting dough into balls and boil in vigorously boiling water.

Step 2

Beat the egg with salt and sake. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the omelet. Place it on parchment paper to remove excess oil. Cut the omelet into strips.

Step 3

Cut the seaweed into small pieces, soak in cold water, and bring to a boil. Add bonito flakes and cook for 10 minutes. Add soy sauce, sake, and salt.

Step 4

Drop the omelet strips and shrimp balls into the broth.

Step 5

Sprinkle the soup with chopped green onions.
