Description
If you want to make a heavier and sweeter filling for this cake, you can mix equal parts of sugar and whipped butter. You can use any jam — raspberry, cherry, strawberry, apricot, etc.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Brown Sugar 5 oz
- Baking Powder 1½ teaspoons
- Jam 4 tablespoons
- Heavy cream 5 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar to taste
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a deep bowl, beat the eggs. Gradually fold in the dry mixture of flour and baking powder into the egg foam.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, mix the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Combine the resulting mixture with the flour and eggs. Stir and beat.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 355°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Grease two round or rectangular shallow baking pans with melted butter. Divide the batter into two halves and place it in the pans. Bake the layers for about 25–30 minutes until done (a wooden skewer inserted into the cake should come out clean).
Step 4
Remove the pans from the oven, carefully take out the baked layers, and place them on a rack or wooden board to cool. While the layers are cooling, whip the cream.
Step 5
Spread the whipped cream and jam on the inner side of the layers. Join the two layers together. Dust the top with powdered sugar.
