Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 10 oz
  • Butter 10 oz
  • Sugar 10 oz
  • Apple 4 pieces
  • Whole egg 3 pieces
  • Egg white 5 pieces
  • Vanillin a pinch
  • Dry yeast 0 oz
  • Grated Lemon Zest to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Prepare the dough. To do this, beat the butter with sugar until a smooth creamy mass is formed, add the yolks, vanillin, yeast, and lemon zest. Continue beating for about 2 minutes. While continuing to beat, gradually add the sifted flour.

Step 2

Whip the egg whites into a fluffy foam. Add them to the dough and gently mix.

Step 3

Peel the apples, and cut the flesh into thin slices.

Step 4

Spread half of the dough into a greased and floured cake pan. Place half of the apples on top. Add the remaining dough and then the remaining apples on top. Brush the top layer with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at 340°F for 1 hour.
