Description
Ice Cream with Milk Chocolate and Maltesers
Ingredients
- 3.2% Milk 5 fl oz
- 10% cream 5 fl oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Salt a pinch
- Corn Starch 3 teaspoons
- Semi-soft cream cheese 0 oz
- Dry Malted Milk Powder 2 tablespoons
- Cocoa Powder 2 tablespoons
- Liquid dark chocolate 5 oz
- Maltesers candies 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Dissolve the cornstarch in 50 ml of milk.
Step 2
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the cream, remaining milk, sugar, salt, dry malted milk powder, and cocoa powder. Stir, bring to almost a boil, add the broken chocolate pieces, let it completely dissolve, then pour in the cornstarch milk and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat, add the cream cheese, and stir until smooth and glossy. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate overnight.
Step 3
Freeze in an ice cream maker, adding the halved Maltesers in the last couple of minutes of freezing. Transfer the finished ice cream to a container and place it in the freezer until firm.
Step 4
If you don't have an ice cream maker, immediately transfer the ice cream to a container, place it in the freezer, and stir the contents every 20-30 minutes until fully frozen. Garnish with Maltesers just before serving.
