Description

Ice Cream with Milk Chocolate and Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3.2% Milk 5 fl oz
  • 10% cream 5 fl oz
  • Corn Starch 3 teaspoons
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Salt a pinch
  • Semi-soft cream cheese 0 oz
  • Liquid dark chocolate 5 oz
  • Cocoa Powder 0 oz
  • Oreo Cookies 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Dissolve the cornstarch in 50 ml of milk and set aside.

Step 2

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the remaining milk, cream, sugar, and salt, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Then add the cocoa powder and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat, add the broken pieces of milk chocolate, and let it melt completely, stirring until the chocolate mixture is smooth. Return the saucepan to medium heat, pour in the cornstarch milk, and cook while stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat, add the cream cheese, and mix until smooth. Allow to cool to room temperature and refrigerate overnight.

Step 3

Pour the cooled mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to the instructions. In the last couple of minutes of freezing, add the broken pieces of Oreo cookies (ideally the ones with chocolate cream), transfer everything to a container, and place in the freezer for at least 4 hours until set.

Step 4

If you don't have an ice cream maker, no worries. Just pour the chocolate mixture into a container, place it in the freezer, and stir the ice cream every 20-30 minutes until fully set. Sprinkle with Oreo crumbs just before serving.
