Description
Hummus with Tahini
Ingredients
- Chickpeas 10 oz
- Onion ¼ head
- Carrot 1 piece
- Coriander Seeds 1 teaspoon
- Cumin ½ teaspoon
- Tahini 4 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Soak the chickpeas in cold water for 20–25 minutes. Then change the water, add the peeled quarter of the onion, chopped carrot, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook the chickpeas for 40–50 minutes until tender.
Step 2
Meanwhile, dry roast the coriander seeds in a skillet for 3–4 minutes, stirring. Add the cumin and remove the spices from the heat.
Step 3
Drain the water from the chickpeas and save it. Place the chickpeas in a blender bowl, add the spices, cilantro, tahini, salt, and half of the water in which the chickpeas were cooked. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add more water from the chickpeas.
