Description

Honey Pears with Vanilla in Puff Pastry

Ingredients

  • Pears 4 pieces
  • Puff Pastry 10 oz
  • Water 4 cups
  • Sugar 2 cups
  • Honey 10 oz
  • Lemon ½ piece
  • White Beans 1 piece
  • Cinnamon 3 pieces
  • Ground clove 7 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Peel the pears. In a medium saucepan, dissolve the sugar and honey in the water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Step 2

Once the sugar has dissolved, add the pears, vanilla bean, half a lemon, cinnamon, and cloves. Cook the pears until they are tender (a fork should easily pierce them). This may take 20–40 minutes, depending on the ripeness of the pears.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Once the pears are soft, remove them from the pot and let them cool slightly.

Step 4

Cut the pastry into narrow strips. Completely wrap the cooled pears in the pastry. Seal the pastry at the base.

Step 5

Place the pears on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.

Step 6

On low heat, bring the syrup to a boil and pour it onto a plate. Place the pear directly in the syrup and serve.
