Honey Peaches Chinese Style
Ingredients
- Donut Peaches 6 pieces
- Sugar 5 tablespoons
- Honey 1 tablespoon
- Ground Cinnamon ⅓ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the peaches, blanch them in boiling water, and immediately immerse them in a bowl of ice water. After these procedures, the skin will come off easily. Cut the fruits in half and remove the pits.
Step 2
Fill a steamer pot halfway with water and place it on the heat. Sprinkle the bottom of a large bowl (which can be placed in the pot or suspended by its edges) with 1 teaspoon of sugar, arrange the peach halves in the bowl, and sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of sugar on top. Steam for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Carefully remove the bowl and drain the released peach juice into a separate container, using a slotted spoon to transfer the peaches to a plate.
Step 4
In a saucepan, pour in 3 tablespoons of water and add the remaining sugar. Cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes. Add the honey, cinnamon, and the peach juice to the resulting syrup. Continue cooking until the syrup becomes thick and sticky.
Step 5
Drizzle the syrup over the peach halves and cool.
