Description
Honey Nougat Candies
Ingredients
- Honey 5 oz
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Cocoa Powder 2 tablespoons
- Walnuts 10 oz
- Citric Acid ⅓ teaspoon
- Butter 5 oz
- Water 0 fl oz
- Chocolate 10 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, mix honey, sugar, water, cocoa powder, and walnuts.
Step 2
Place on low heat and cook until boiling, stirring constantly.
Step 3
After boiling, cook for another 10–15 minutes, stirring.
Step 4
Remove from heat. Add citric acid. Stir well.
Step 5
Add butter. Mix everything thoroughly.
Step 6
Let it cool slightly. Place in the refrigerator for 1.5–2 hours until fully set. Then, you can shape the candies using a spoon or by hand (with wet hands or gloves). My younger brother helped shape the candies, so to speak, to contribute to making candies for mom.
Step 7
Store the candies in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Step 8
Melt the chocolate in a water bath (I add a little vegetable oil to the chocolate, just a bit, it coats better this way).
Step 9
Dip the candies in the glaze. You can use a toothpick for this.
Step 10
While the glaze is still wet, you can decorate the candies, for example, with cookie crumbs.
Step 11
Store the candies in the refrigerator until set.
