Description
The quality of the cottage cheese is very important. If the processed cheese turns out too runny, try adding cream next time.
Ingredients
- Cottage cheese 15 oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Spices to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pass the cottage cheese, preferably homemade, through a sieve using a spoon. Ideally, you can also use a meat grinder.
Step 2
Then add the egg, butter, baking soda, and salt to the cottage cheese.
Step 3
Place a pot with this mixture over low heat and stir everything with a spoon until it becomes a homogeneous mass. Along the way, add spices—I sprinkled dried basil. If you want to give the processed cheese a yellowish color, add turmeric.
Step 4
Stir continuously until the mass completely melts and the first bubbles appear. If you overcook it, water may start to separate, and the processed cheese will have a consistency similar to feta cheese.
Step 5
Pour the mixture into a bowl and let it cool. The processed cheese is ready.
