  • Water 20 fl oz
  • Dry yeast 0 oz
  • Sugar 0 oz
  • Semolina 0 oz
  • Walnuts 5 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
  • Salt 1 teaspoon

Pour warm water (about 37–105°F) into a deep bowl.

Add sugar and stir until fully dissolved.

Add yeast.

Whisk well.

Sift the flour.

Add salt.

Pour in the vegetable oil.

Knead the dough. It should have a consistency similar to pancake batter or low-fat sour cream and slowly slide off the spatula.

Cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm spot for 15–20 minutes to let the dough rise.

Gently punch down the risen dough and fold in the whole walnuts.

Grease a baking pan with vegetable oil and sprinkle with semolina.

Place the dough in the pan up to halfway. For decoration, you can slightly press walnut halves into the dough. Let the dough rest for 20 minutes.

Sprinkle with semolina on top and place in the oven for 25–30 minutes at 390°F. First, pour a cup of water into the bottom of the electric oven to create steam, then do not open the door until fully baked.

Remove the finished bread from the pan, slice into portions, and serve.
