Homemade Belyashi

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 3½ cups
  • Water 1¼ cups
  • Vegetable Oil ½ teaspoon
  • Sugar 2 teaspoons
  • Dry yeast 2 teaspoons
  • Veal Mince 20 oz
  • Onion 2 heads
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Knead the dough from wheat flour, water, vegetable oil, salt, sugar, and yeast. Mix everything well and let it rise for about 40 minutes.

Step 2

Then mix again and roll into a sausage shape.

Step 3

Cut it into pieces.

Step 4

Roll them into small flatbreads.

Step 5

Pass the meat and onion through a meat grinder, add water, pepper, and salt to taste to the minced meat.

Step 6

Place the prepared meat filling on the flatbreads and wrap them around, carefully pinching the edges. Leave a hole in the center of each belyash.

Step 7

Place the belyashi on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper greased with oil.

Step 8

Let them rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.

Step 9

Brush with egg yolk.

Step 10

Bake at 355°F for 25 minutes.
