Description

- Keep in mind that when kneading the dough, the amount of flour may vary, depending on its type. - Hot oil can start to taste bitter after prolonged use, so it’s advisable to change it periodically when possible. - You can also make your own filling at home instead of buying it, using your own recipe.

Ingredients

  • Salt 1 tablespoon
  • Lean Beef 15 oz
  • Pork Mince 5 oz
  • Onion 1 piece
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Wheat Flour 20 oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Milk 10 fl oz
  • Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Dry yeast 1½ g
  • Vegetable Oil to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

To prepare the dough, mix room temperature butter with sugar and salt, then add milk and stir. Incorporate the yeast and gradually add the sifted flour, kneading the dough until it is smooth and non-sticky, with a slightly elastic consistency.

Step 2

Place the dough in a warm spot and let it rise for about 30 minutes, then punch it down and let it rest for another 30 minutes.

Step 3

For the filling, finely chop the onion and mix it with the ground meat. Add salt and pepper, and mix well.

Step 4

Divide the prepared dough into small balls, about the size of a small apple. Roll each ball into a flat round shape, then place 1-2 tablespoons of filling on top of each round. Pinch the edges to seal them like an open pie.

Step 5

Fry in a hot skillet with vegetable oil, placing the meat pastries in the skillet with the opening facing down. Cook until golden brown on both sides.

Step 6

Place the cooked pirozhki on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Enjoy your meal!
