Ham and Bean Soup
Ingredients
- Ham 15 oz
- Chicken Broth 0 qt
- Turnips 2 pieces
- Canned Baby Beets 15 oz
- Onion 2 pieces
- Celery stalk 2 pieces
- Dried Rosemary 1 teaspoon
- Dried Chamomile 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Chop the celery, onion, and carrots into medium pieces.
Step 2
Cut the ham into cubes.
Step 3
In a pot over medium heat, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add the vegetables. Sauté, stirring, for 7–8 minutes.
Step 4
Add the thyme and rosemary. Sauté for about another minute.
Step 5
Add the ham and broth to the pot.
Step 6
Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer covered for 20 minutes.
Step 7
Rinse the beans. Add them to the soup. Cook for another 5 minutes.
