Description

Grilled Figs with Ricotta

Ingredients

  • Honey 2 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon 1 piece
  • Chopped almonds 3 tablespoons
  • Green Figs 8 pieces
  • Ricotta cheese 5 oz
  • Vanilla extract ½ teaspoon
  • Ground Cinnamon a pinch
  • Powdered Sugar 2 tablespoons
  • Orange zest ½ teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine honey and the cinnamon stick, then add 4 tablespoons of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 6 minutes until reduced by half. Remove the cinnamon stick and add the almond flakes.

Step 2

Preheat the grill and lightly grease a small baking tray. Cut the figs into 4 parts without cutting all the way through. Place them cut side down on the tray.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix the ricotta, vanilla, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest. Fill the figs with the mixture and drizzle with the syrup. Place under the grill and cook until the almonds are toasted and juices start to run from the figs. Cool for 2-3 minutes and transfer to plates. Drizzle with the released juices.
