Greek Kurabie
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Whole egg 1 piece
- Powdered Sugar 25 oz
- Brandy 1 tablespoon
- Wheat Flour 15 oz
- Baking Powder 0,1 teaspoons
- Orange bitters to taste
- Almond 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Beat the butter with a cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy, then add the egg yolk and pour in the brandy. Sift the flour with the baking powder. Combine both mixtures and knead the dough until it no longer sticks to your hands.
Step 2
Chop the almonds with a knife until they resemble crumbs and add them to the dough. Shape the dough into balls the size of walnuts and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for twenty minutes until golden brown.
Step 3
Remove from the oven, let cool, brush with a small amount of orange blossom water, roll in the remaining powdered sugar, and place on a serving dish.
