Description

From the specified amount of ingredients, I ended up with 4 trays of cookies! So you can comfortably take half the amount! It’s worth mentioning that the dough is quite fragile—if not handled carefully, it can crumble, so be very gentle and it’s best to use a spatula to transfer the cookies to the baking sheet! The cookies keep quite well! You can store them in a nice tin box and gift them to friends! They are especially delicious with milk or tea!

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Sugar 1 glass
  • Baking Powder 1 tablespoon
  • Butter 5 oz
  • Grated Ginger Root 2½ spoons
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 tablespoon
  • Clove 5 pieces
  • Honey 3 spoons
  • Cardamom 1 tablespoon

Step-by-Step Guide

In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together with a mixer.

Step 5

Then add the eggs and honey, which should be slightly warmed up beforehand.

Step 6

Now, add the flour to the egg and butter mixture and mix well. The dough will quickly take on a rich brown color before your eyes.

Step 7

Knead the dough well by hand and refrigerate it for 1.5 to 2 hours. At first, the dough will be slightly soft, but after chilling, it will be easy to roll out!

Step 8 Image

Step 8

Then roll out the dough fairly thin and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.

Step 9

Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil and arrange the cookies on it. Place in the preheated oven for 5–7 minutes. They bake very quickly! The key is to stay focused, or they will burn instantly! Remove the cookies as soon as the tops start to turn golden brown!
