Ginger Cookies with Sesame

Ingredients

  • Butter 5 oz
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Sour Cream 5 oz
  • Wheat Flour 2 cups
  • Raisins 0 oz
  • Toasted Sesame 3 tablespoons
  • Citrus Zest Mix 1 teaspoon
  • Activated Baking Soda a pinch
  • Grated Ginger Root 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Beat the egg with sugar.

Step 2

Add softened butter and sour cream.

Step 3

Stir in flour, sesame seeds, raisins, cinnamon, ginger, add zest and baking soda.

Step 4

In a bowl or saucepan, knead a not too stiff dough. If it sticks to your hands, that's okay.

Step 5

Place the bowl with the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 355°F. Grease a baking sheet with butter and sprinkle with flour. You can line the baking sheet with parchment paper (in this case, greasing and sprinkling is not necessary as it won't burn).

Step 7

From the chilled dough, form balls and place them on the sheet. You can flatten the balls to make patties, or roll them into logs and shape them into pretzels.

Step 8

Sprinkle each cookie with sugar and sesame seeds on top.

Step 9

Bake at 355°F for about 20 minutes (until a brown crust forms).

Step 10

When serving, you can dust with powdered sugar.
