Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Egg white 1 piece
- Baking Powder 1½ teaspoons
- Raw cane sugar 5 oz
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Butter 6 tablespoons
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Light Molasses 5 oz
- Grated Ginger Root 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a bowl, sift together the ginger, baking powder, baking soda, ground spices, and flour.
Step 2
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the sugar, diced butter, and both types of molasses (100 g light and 50 g dark).
Step 3
Pour the melted mixture into the dry ingredients, add the milk, beaten egg, and ginger, and mix well.
Step 4
Pour the prepared batter into a greased baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 355°F for 45–50 minutes.
