Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 20 oz
- Olive Oil 5 fl oz
- Salt 0 oz
- Brewer's Yeast 0 oz
- Water to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour some flour onto a clean surface and make a well in the center.
Step 2
Dissolve the beer yeast in a small amount of warm water, combine it with the flour, and knead the dough as you would for bread. Let the dough rest under a warm cloth in a warm place for 2 hours.
Step 3
Add the remaining flour and butter, and knead until the dough is soft. Let it rise for another 2 hours.
Step 4
After the sourdough, stretch the dough on the baking sheet with your hands, leaving fingerprints that will collect the oil you pour.
Step 5
Sprinkle with coarse salt and let it rest again before baking in a hot oven at 200–445°F.
Step 6
The focaccia is baked until it turns golden brown, about 30 minutes.
