Baking and Desserts • European
Description
You can use any fruits (in season) or canned fruits. There should be plenty of them.
Ingredients
- Butter 10 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Sugar 1½ cups
- Salt a pinch
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Wheat Flour 3 cups
- Donut Peaches 1 piece
- Apple 1 piece
- Pear 1 piece
- Canned Pineapple Chunks 5 oz
- Kiwi 2 pieces
- Chopped almonds 5 oz
- Raisins 5 oz
- Beans 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take the butter out of the refrigerator in advance, cut it into pieces, and set it aside to soften.
Step 2
Separate the yolks from the whites. Put the whites in the refrigerator.
Step 3
Beat all the yolks with ¾ cup of sugar.
Step 4
Add the softened butter.
Step 5
Add 1.5 cups of flour and baking soda. Quickly mix with a fork.
Step 6
Add the remaining flour and quickly form into 2 balls — one larger, about ⅔ of the total volume, and one smaller — ⅓ part. Put both parts in the refrigerator.
Step 7
Prepare the fruits: wash and cut into large cubes.
Step 8
Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Take the larger ball of dough and grate it over the entire tray.
Step 9
Layer the main part of the fruits over the dough. Sprinkle the remaining dough on top.
Step 10
Bake at 355°F until almost done, until light golden color (about 40 minutes). By that time, whip the egg whites, first without sugar, then with ¾ cup of sugar.
Step 11
Take the pie out and spread the whipped egg whites over its surface, then scatter almonds and remaining fruits on top. Put it back in the oven at 390°F to brown slightly (for about 7 minutes).
Step 12
Remove and immediately cut into serving pieces.
