  • Coconut Milk 10 fl oz
  • 3.2% Milk 15 fl oz
  • Brown Sugar 5 oz
  • Strawberry 0 oz
  • Wheat Flour 0 oz
  • Corn Starch 5 oz
  • Baking Powder 0 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Combine whole milk with coconut milk in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add sugar and cornstarch. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Step 2

Continue stirring and cook until thickened, then remove from heat and let cool slightly. You should have a mixture similar to thick jelly. Pour this mixture onto a greased baking sheet and place in a cool place to set completely.

Step 3

Cut the set mixture into medium-sized rectangular pieces. Heat the oil for frying over medium heat. Coat the pieces in a mixture of flour, cornstarch, and a small amount of baking soda and baking powder. Fry in batches in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately, garnished with mint and strawberries.
