Description

French Toast with Cottage Cheese and Berry Sauce

Ingredients

  • Salt a pinch
  • Honey 2 teaspoons
  • Butter 3 tablespoons
  • Ground Cinnamon ½ teaspoon
  • Frozen black currant puree ½ cup
  • Low-fat lactose-free milk 5 oz
  • Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
  • Milk 1½ cups
  • White bread 8 slices
  • Vanillin ½ teaspoon
  • Brown Sugar 2 teaspoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Crack the eggs into a bowl and lightly beat with a fork, add half of the milk, salt, cinnamon, and vanillin.

Step 2

Heat a skillet over high heat, reduce the heat and add half of the butter mixed with half of the sugar, allowing the mixture to melt on the hot surface. Spread it evenly across the skillet.

Step 3

Meanwhile, soak 4 slices of bread in the milk mixture. Quickly remove from the milk bath and place in the heated butter. Fry for 3 minutes on one side, check for golden color, then flip. Fry for another 3 minutes.

Step 4

Repeat the same process with the second batch.

Step 5

Prepare the sauce: add honey to the cottage cheese and pour in the second half of the slightly warmed milk. Use a blender to turn it into a cream.

Step 6

Add the berries (thawing is not necessary) and blend until it reaches a sauce consistency.

Step 7

Serve in a wide bowl or individual dessert plates alongside the French toast.
