French Pastries with Cod
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Cottage cheese 10 oz
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Ground Caraway ½ teaspoon
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Cod 20 oz
- Garlic 1 clove
- Passata Tomato Sauce 3 tablespoons
- Onion 1 head
- Ground clove a pinch
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the dough. Sift the flour, add the cottage cheese, slightly softened butter, and salt. Knead the dough with your fingers, trying not to crush it with your palms. Roll into a ball and leave it in the cold for half an hour.
Step 2
Prepare the filling. Wash the cod fillet, dry it, and cut it into small pieces. Fry in a skillet with vegetable oil. Then add the tomato paste, finely chopped garlic, salt, allspice, and fry until the filling becomes thick and aromatic.
Step 3
Roll out the dough to a thickness of 3 millimeters. Cut into squares, brush the edges with a lightly beaten egg. Place the filling in the center of each square, seal the pastries by folding the edges like an envelope. Brush with egg and sprinkle with caraway seeds. Bake for 15 minutes at 390°F.
