French Cinnamon and Poppy Seed Rolls
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg 2 pieces
- Dry yeast 1 tablespoon
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Margarine 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 15 oz
- Starch film 1 tablespoon
- Ground Cinnamon to taste
- Poppy seed paste to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
First, prepare the cream. Mix softened margarine (half a pack), sugar (150 g), and starch. Stir with a fork.
Step 2
Prepare the dough. Add yeast to warm milk, then add sugar, eggs, half the amount of flour, melted margarine, and more flour.
Step 3
Knead the dough and start shaping the rolls.
Step 4
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 2.5 cm, spread the cream on it (sprinkle with cinnamon or poppy seeds).
Step 5
Roll into logs. Cut into small pieces. Place on a baking sheet with the cut side down. Do not flatten or press, leave them quite loose. Now wait for them to rise (about 40–60 minutes).
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 430°F, place the rolls inside and reduce the temperature to 180–200 degrees. Bake for 15 minutes.
