French Cheese Soup

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet 20 oz
  • Potato 15 oz
  • Sliced Processed Cheese 5 oz
  • Onion 1 head
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Herbs to taste
  • Bay leaf 2 pieces
  • Carrot 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a 3-liter pot, place the meat and add water. Once the broth starts to boil, add 1 teaspoon of salt, a few whole allspice and black peppercorns, and 2-3 bay leaves. Cook for 20 minutes from the moment it starts boiling. Then remove the meat.

Step 2

Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Dice the onion. Grate the carrot. Cut the meat into small pieces. If using processed cheese in a block, grate it or cut it into cubes.

Step 3

Add the potatoes to the boiling broth. Cook for 5–7 minutes from the moment it starts boiling.

Step 4

Meanwhile, make a light sauté in butter. Add the onion first, followed by the carrot. Lightly season with salt and pepper. Add the sautéed mixture to the soup and cook for another 5–7 minutes.

Step 5

Then add the chopped meat. Cook for 3-4 minutes, add the processed cheese, stir well, and turn off the heat.

Step 6

Before serving, sprinkle with herbs. If desired, serve with croutons.
