French Apple Tart
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice 5 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Brandy 2 tablespoons
- Granny Smith apples 6 pieces
- Apricot Jam 2 tablespoons
- Water 0 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a deep bowl, mix the flour, sugar (2 tablespoons), and salt. Cut the butter (2/3) into small pieces and add it to the flour, rubbing it into crumbs. Add water. Knead the dough. Form the dough into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap. Place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Step 2
Roll out the dough and fit it into a tart pan, then place it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Slice the apples thinly and drizzle with lemon juice. Warm the jam and spread it over the dough. Arrange the apples in circles, sprinkle with the remaining sugar, and drizzle with brandy. Top with finely chopped butter.
Step 4
Bake for 20 minutes at 410°F. Reduce the temperature to 375°F and bake for 15 minutes. Then reduce to 340°F and bake for another 30 minutes.
