Fragrant Lemon Pie
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Sour Cream 0 oz
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Vanilla salt to taste
- Activated Baking Soda ¼ teaspoon
- Meyer Lemon Juice 5 tablespoons
- Citrus Zest Mix 2 tablespoons
- Lime Syrup to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a deep bowl, beat sugar with room temperature butter using a mixer until a light, fluffy mass forms. Add the eggs and beat for another couple of minutes. Pour in the milk, gently mix, then add sour cream, lemon juice, and zest, and mix everything well.
Step 2
In another bowl, combine sifted flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and vanilla sugar. Add to the first mixture in two batches, mixing thoroughly after each addition until smooth.
Step 3
Line a baking pan with parchment paper, grease with butter, and pour in the batter. Bake at 160°C (320°F) for about an hour, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
Step 4
Let the pie cool slightly, then remove it from the pan onto a wire rack. Brush the top crust with the prepared lemon syrup or make it yourself by mixing 50 g of lemon juice and 50 g of sugar, heating over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the syrup thickens. Allow the syrup to soak in while the pie is still warm. Cool the pie on the rack.
