Fluffy Orange Cake
Ingredients
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Whole egg 5 pieces
- Powdered Sugar 10 oz
- Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
- Orange zest 3 tablespoons
- Orange juice concentrate 10 fl oz
- Egg white 8 pieces
- Cream of tartar ½ teaspoon
- Sugar 4 tablespoons
- Baking Powder 3 teaspoons
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 340°F.
Step 2
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt, then add the sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the oil and egg yolks. Add the orange zest. Pour in the orange juice and mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Whip the egg whites, adding cream of tartar. Fold the flour mixture into the egg white mixture and mix well.
Step 4
Pour the batter into a springform pan without greasing it. Bake for 55 minutes.
Step 5
Increase the temperature to 355°F and bake for another 10 minutes. Invert the pan with the cake upside down and let it cool.
Step 6
To make the orange glaze, pour the orange juice and add the sugar to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until the glaze thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Step 7
Remove the cake from the pan and pour the glaze over it.
