  • Oranges 1 piece
  • Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
  • Whole egg 1 piece
  • Ground Almonds 5 oz
  • Powdered Sugar 5 oz
  • Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
  • Poppy seed paste 2 teaspoons
  • Vanilla Ice Cream 10 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Boil the whole orange in water for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Make sure the orange is always covered with water. Remove and let cool.

Step 2

Grind the peeled almonds into crumbs.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 355°F.

Step 4

Peel the orange and separate the flesh from the membranes and seeds. Blend the flesh into a puree.

Step 5

Whisk the eggs and yolk in a mixer for 5 minutes. Incorporate the whipped eggs into the orange puree.

Step 6

Mix the sugar, almond crumbs, baking powder, and poppy seeds together in a separate bowl, then add the dry ingredients to the egg-orange mixture and mix thoroughly. Divide into molds and bake for 25 minutes or check for doneness with a toothpick.

Step 7

Let cool for a few minutes and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
