Flourless Cinnamon Charlotte
Baking and Desserts • European
Description
I weighed each ingredient and calculated the nutritional values. In my version, the finished product weighed 746 g, with per 100 g nutritional values: calories — 97.20; protein — 6.93 g; fat — 2.82 g; carbohydrates — 10.49 g. In the photo, it looks more like scrambled eggs with tomatoes, as my sister said, but it actually tastes great.
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg 3 pieces
- Apple 3 pieces
- Non-Fat Dry Milk 5 tablespoons
- Corn Starch 1 tablespoon
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Semi-soft cream cheese 5 oz
- Sugar Substitute 3 teaspoons
- Ground Cinnamon to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes. Mix with cinnamon.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, mix the non-fat dry milk, cornstarch, and baking powder.
Step 3
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Step 4
Whip the yolks with the cottage cheese and sugar substitute (I used a brand that was very sweet for me). Gradually add the dry ingredients to the mixture and beat with a mixer on low speed.
Step 5
Then, add the whipped egg whites in small portions and gently fold with a spoon.
Step 6
Next, there are two options: you can add the apples to the batter right away and mix. Or you can do it as I did: line the bottom of a steamer bowl with parchment paper (or grease with a drop of olive oil, but I was aiming for a diet-friendly recipe). Place the apples with cinnamon on top. Pour the batter over and steam for 30–35 minutes.
