Description
Recipe taken from the book by John Smith 'Armenian Cuisine' (1960).
Ingredients
- Beef 5 oz
- Oat flakes 0 oz
- Buckwheat Groats 0 oz
- Onion 0 oz
- Clarified Butter 0 oz
- Spinach 5 oz
- Tomato Puree 0 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Thoroughly mix the oat flour (wheat flour can be used) with the cooked fine wheat groats.
Step 2
Add salt and ½ cup of water.
Step 3
Knead the dough and shape it into small balls (flol) the size of cherries.
Step 4
In hot broth made from beef, add finely chopped and sautéed onion, tomato puree, coarsely chopped spinach, salt, and pepper, and cook for 10 minutes.
Step 5
After that, add the flol to the broth and cook until they float to the surface.
