You can substitute kefir with buttermilk.
Ingredients
- Flaxseeds ½ cup
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Sugar ½ tablespoon
- Kefir 1 cup
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take the kefir out of the refrigerator in advance and let it warm to room temperature.
Step 2
Mix the sugar, salt, baking soda, and both types of flour.
Step 3
Add the kefir.
Step 4
Knead the dough — it will be soft and slightly sticky. Shape the dough into a ball and let it rest for about an hour in a warm place.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 390°F.
Step 6
Cut the dough into elongated pieces and roll them into sticks the thickness of a thumb.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven at 390°F for 20 minutes. The sticks will be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
