
Flan with Caramel

Description
After preparation, it is best to let it chill in the refrigerator for about 2–4 hours. You can make the dessert with different flavors: caramel, condensed milk, coffee, adding fruit juice or a little alcohol (for example, brandy in coffee flan).
Ingredients
- Milk 15 fl oz
- Vanilla extract 1 tablespoon
- Sugar 5 oz
- Lemon ½ piece
- Egg white 5 pieces
- Water 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the caramel: bring 100 g of sugar, the juice of half a lemon, and 2 tablespoons of water to a boil. Pour the caramel into molds and let it cool.
Step 2
Bring the milk and vanilla extract to a boil, then let it cool.
Step 3
Whisk the remaining 80 g of sugar with 3 eggs and 2 egg yolks. While continuing to stir, gradually add the cooled milk and mix for 3–5 minutes.
Step 4
Pour the mixture into molds and bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 355°F.
Step 5
Let it cool completely before serving.
