Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Fig 8 pieces
- Sherry 2 glasses
- Ground Almonds 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the figs, dry them, and cut them into about five thick slices. Arrange them in a shallow dish, pour a glass of sherry over them, and let them sit for an hour, or preferably overnight.
Step 2
Prepare a crumbly dough using 200 grams of flour and 100 grams of butter, then let it rest in the refrigerator for half an hour, or preferably one hour.
Step 3
Take a small baking tray. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out into a sheet that fits the shape of the tray, about 2–3 mm thick. Place it onto the tray.
Step 4
Use a fork to mash 50 grams of softened butter and 100 grams of sugar together. Then add 100 grams of ground almonds and a glass of sherry, and mix well. The result should be a spreadable mixture, similar to butter but not too runny. Spread this mixture over the dough and layer figs on top, slightly overlapping them.
Step 5
Place the baking tray in the preheated oven at 390°F for twenty-five minutes.
