Description

I had a small piece of white dough left. I cut out cookies with a cutter, rolled them in sugar with cinnamon, and baked them.

Ingredients

  • Butter 20 oz
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Orange zest ½ piece
  • Wheat Flour 25 oz
  • Powdered Sugar 10 oz
  • Cocoa Powder 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Mix the butter, salt, powdered sugar, and orange zest well. Divide the mixture into two parts.

Step 2

Sift 300 g of flour and cocoa into one part and knead the dough. If the dough crumbles and doesn't want to form a ball, add 1 tablespoon of cold water. Form a ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Sift 375 g of flour into the second part and knead the dough. Form a ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Take 1/5 of the chocolate dough and leave it in the refrigerator, remove the rest.

Step 5

Roll out the chocolate dough into a rectangle 1 cm thick. Take the white dough out of the refrigerator and roll it into a rectangle of the same size. Brush the chocolate rectangle with cold water and place the white one on top. Cut a 1 cm wide strip from the long side of the resulting rectangle. Cut another strip of the same size from the rectangle and connect it to the first one, brushing with cold water, white side to black, and black to white.

Step 6

Take the remaining chocolate dough out of the refrigerator. Roll it out as thinly as possible. Brush with cold water and wrap the resulting chess log.

Step 7

Cut pieces about 1 cm from the log and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 390°F.
