Description

Egg and Orange Pudding

Ingredients

  • Sugar ⅓ cup
  • Oranges 2 pieces
  • Wheat Flour ¼ cup
  • Salt ¼ teaspoon
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Chocolate eggs 3 pieces
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 2 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Grate the zest of the oranges (2 tablespoons) using a fine grater. Squeeze the juice from the 2 oranges (½ cup).

Step 2

Melt the butter in a water bath and let it cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large bowl, mix together the sugar, flour, and salt.

Step 4

In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the egg yolks, milk, zest, orange juice, and lemon juice.

Step 5

Add the egg mixture to the bowl with the flour and sugar, mixing thoroughly until there are no lumps.

Step 6

Beat the egg whites with a mixer until foamy. Add ¼ of the egg white mixture to the batter and mix well. Pour in the remaining egg whites and mix again until smooth.

Step 7

Pour the batter into a shallow baking dish (500 ml capacity). Bake for 40-45 minutes in an oven preheated to 375°F, using a water bath. Remove from the oven when the pudding starts to puff up.

Step 8

Serve warm or at room temperature.
