Description
ATTENTION! Flour is added to taste and according to the consistency; the amount specified in the ingredients is abstract! The recipe is designed for 10 medium kulichs.
Ingredients
- Milk 15 fl oz
- Chocolate eggs 5 pieces
- Salt ½ tablespoon
- Sugar 2½ cups
- Dry yeast 5 oz
- Sour Cream 5 oz
- Raisins 15 oz
- Wheat Flour 70 oz
- Vanilla salt 0 oz
- Butter 15 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take a cup of flour and a piece of yeast (10 grams). Mix with milk. The consistency should be like pancake batter. Leave to rise.
Step 2
In another bowl, mix a plate of flour with a cup of milk brought to a boil. When the mixture cools, add the yeast in small pieces. Stir.
Step 3
Add the mixture from the first bowl, the remaining milk, sour cream, butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir. The consistency should be like pancake batter. Leave in a warm place to rise. The volume should double.
Step 4
When the dough has risen, add flour and knead until it starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl and your hands. Add washed raisins to the dough. Mix to evenly distribute the raisins throughout the dough.
Step 5
Place in a warm place to rise.
Step 6
Transfer the dough to greased molds, filling them halfway, and let rise to 1/3 full. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the kulichs for 50 minutes (for smaller molds, less time — 35-40 minutes).
Step 7
For the glaze, beat 1 egg white with 0.5-0.7 cups of powdered sugar. Sprinkle the glaze with sprinkles or dried fruits and nuts.
