Ingredients
- Self-rising flour 15 oz
- Salt 2 teaspoons
- Butter 5 oz
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Honey to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 410°F. Grease a baking tray with butter. Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl and make a well in the center. Mix the butter, 125 ml of milk, and 125 ml of water, then add to the flour. Mix well.
Step 2
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 20 seconds. Place the dough onto the baking tray and press it into a circle about 20 cm in diameter.
Step 3
Score the dough into 8 pieces with a knife, without cutting all the way through. Brush with butter and sprinkle with flour. Bake for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Reduce the temperature to 355°F and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown. Serve with butter and honey.
