  • Milk 25 fl oz
  • Vanilla Pod 1 piece
  • Chicken Egg 6 pieces
  • Sugar 10 oz
  • Prunes 12 pieces
  • Raisins 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Soak the stale bread in a small amount (200 ml) of cold milk for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 355°F.

Step 2

Prepare the flan: Bring the remaining milk to a boil along with the vanilla bean, split lengthwise. Whisk the eggs with the sugar. Pour the boiling milk into this mixture.

Step 3

Place the soaked bread in a terrine, then layer the prunes and raisins on top. Pour the flan mixture over it and cook in a water bath for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Serve hot or cold, according to your preference.
