Ingredients
- Green Apples 8 pieces
- Fig 8 pieces
- Lemon 1 piece
- Sugar 1½ cups
- Wheat Flour 1½ cups
- Butter 5 oz
- Chopped almonds 5 oz
- Baking Powder 1 tablespoon
- Ground Cinnamon 2 teaspoons
- Salt a pinch
- Vegetable Oil ½ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the apples, cut them into large slices, and drizzle with the juice of one lemon.
Step 2
Chop the lemon zest, cut the figs into wedges, and add them to the apples.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 410°F.
Step 4
Cut the butter into small pieces and rub it with the flour, salt, and baking powder until crumbly. Add the walnuts, sugar (2/3 cup), and cinnamon to the mixture.
Step 5
Grease a baking dish with oil, layer the apples and figs. Sprinkle with the nut-flour mixture and top with the remaining sugar.
Step 6
Bake for 30-40 minutes.
