Crème Caramel
Ingredients
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Raw cane sugar 15 oz
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
- Farm fresh eggs 4 pieces
- 10% cream 10 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 390°F. Pour the milk and cream into a saucepan and slowly bring to a boil.
Step 2
Place 375 grams of sugar in a skillet and cook over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and turns golden. Break up any lumps with a wooden spoon. Pour the caramel into six 125 ml ramekins.
Step 3
Mix the vanilla, eggs, and remaining sugar. Remove the milk and cream from the heat and gradually stir in the egg mixture. Whisk well.
Step 4
Pour the mixture into the ramekins. Transfer to a deep baking tray and fill with boiling water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Bake for 20 minutes. Invert the dessert onto plates and serve.
