Creamy Mushroom Mini Pies
Ingredients
- Butter 0 oz
- Olive Oil 1 teaspoon
- Onion 1 head
- Garlic 1 clove
- Mixed forest mushrooms 10 oz
- Parsley 0 oz
- 10% cream 5 fl oz
- Shortcrust Pastry 15 oz
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Caraway Seeds 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Heat the butter and olive oil in a pan. Add the onion and sauté until soft. Add the garlic and mushrooms, and cook for another 5 minutes until the mushrooms are tender. Stir in the parsley and cream. Remove from heat and let cool.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F). Grease a baking dish with oil. Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut out 6 circles (6 cm in diameter).
Step 3
Place the mushroom mixture onto the pastry circles. Brush the edges of the pastry with egg, fold over, and seal tightly. Brush with the remaining egg and sprinkle with caraway seeds.
Step 4
Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 day. Reheat before serving.
