Ingredients
- Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Dry yeast 0 oz
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Wheat Flour 15 oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Chili jam 5 fl oz
- Cream 10 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a bowl, combine the yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and pour in the milk. Place in a warm area for 10 minutes. Sift the flour, remaining sugar, and half a teaspoon of salt. Add the milk mixture and softened butter. Knead the dough well, transfer to a floured surface, and knead for another 10 minutes. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and leave in a warm place for 1 hour.
Step 2
Gently punch down the dough and transfer it to a floured surface. Divide into 12 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball by kneading for 30 seconds.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 410°F. Grease 2 baking sheets with butter and lightly dust with flour. Place the dough balls on the baking sheets, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Bake for 20 minutes until the buns are nicely browned. Leave on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a plate. Cut the buns in half with a knife. Spread jam on the bottom half. Whip the cream with sugar using a mixer and transfer the mixture to a piping bag. Pipe the cream onto the jam and close with the other half of the bun. Dust with powdered sugar.
